The 3-on-3 tournament
A marquee three-on-three basketball event launching in August of 2019 where youth under the age of 18 years of age will be eligible to participate at no cost and can partake in both skill development clinics as well as organized basketball competition.
Our goal with this event is to provide an accessible product to all youth in the Calgary and surrounding area so that they can develop their skills and display them without their socioeconomic status being a barrier.
Furthermore it is a platform to connect youth with caring adults and peers who share a similar passion to themselves, thus creating a more meaningful experience for the youth as a whole.

Rethinking community spaces
With a focus on serving disadvantaged youth, the Balance Foundation is re-imagining what a recreation centre can be as a catalyst for change in the community.
We conceptualize a safe space where youth can come to connect with caring adults, participate in sport, receive one on one care and mentorship, develop a purpose and interact with like minded peers who share a passion with one another. This is a facility that will exist far longer than ourselves and act as a hub for a disadvantaged community in the city.
